Huge thanks to whoever it was who had it but didn’t isolate last weekend meaning I now have it (worse than any cold I’ve had in years) and have to miss another Mother’s Day as a result (because some of us are still responsible enough to isolate)
I think one of the most pleasantly surprising things about the whole pandemic has been how prepared the public have been to put their lives on hold for "the greater good", other than a few morons and numpties like Piers Corbyn and his dimwit mates. I'd never have thought that could happen two...
This whole Government basically runs on lies. It’s the WD40 which keeps them running. Which is why people listen to the Whitty, Vallance and Van Tam axis, not whatever Johnson spaffs out.
I’m prepared to cut Whitty some slack on this. It’s increasingly clear a booster jab is key to keeping the vulnerable out of hospital, and is good for the rest of us too for Omicron. Spooking people into getting boosted has clearly worked, and that’s no bad thing.
Do they? I’ve heard them call for “restrictions” but as has been said, that’s not the same thing as calling for a lockdown. Masks on trains and in shops would be classed as a “restriction”. Leaving a window open to socialise is a “restriction”. Neither of these things are lockdowns.
