Advice needed - had my first jab at start of June. Quite keen to get my second done ASAP, can I just book in myself beyond the 8 week mark (as the NHS site allows me to do) or do I need to wait to be called for my 2nd dose?
Just there are events in late August/early Sept I’d like to get to that...
Not my intention to be contentious (didn't exactly see it as a contentious view to be honest, any more than "Highbury was known for being a bit of a library"), as made very clear by the point that I wasn't making a judgment on those who voted Remain for non-racist reasons.
Seems a strange one...
So you think a majority of people voting in the Brexit referendum who hold racist views voted Remain?
I'd be surprised if you are correct, I think that's slightly far fetched personally.
Not stupid, nor sneering at all. Plenty had reasons to vote Brexit that they saw as perfectly valid.
Don't misunderstand me - by and large I'm relatively agnostic in my stance on masks/covid in general. I try to take the centrist, balanced view and not go along with the hysteria at either extreme. I'm making a (perhaps shallow) judgment on the blokes I saw based on their demeanour.
Similarly...
The two people I saw unmasked in Co-Op were 20-30 year old "hard" blokes.
I'm guessing it's some sort of insecurity thing, like you can't be an "alpha" and wear a mask.
We can agree on that at least.
Yes healthy debate is good, but you do seem to lean towards catastrophising quite a lot, which isn't good for your mental health, nor others. That's all. Look after yourself.
There's so much misinformation/needless scaremongering in the second half of your post.
What's the point of trying to scare the shit out of people over something that there's a decent chance won't happen? Genuine question - what is achieved?
We've vaccinated near 80-90% of potential future...
I still feel you’re intentionally missing my point.
I’m clearly talking about the vast majority, not the minority. You seem to be trying to suggest I hold a viewpoint I’ve made clear numerous times I don’t hold. Not quite sure why?
As I said - obviously the rare exceptions suggest as yourself have my full sympathy.
In the other 99%+ of cases, those who are overweight have chosen to eat badly and/or neglect exercise.
Let's be honest - the vast majority are the former. Obviously anyone who is overweight - even with a very healthy diet due to other factors outside of their control - has my complete sympathy.
I remember seeing a study that suggested thyroid problems account for something like 0.3-0.5% of obesity.
