You're right.
On the other hand, surely the argument for retaining Sarmiento and not paying absurd wages/loan fee to Barcelona for a loan for one of their crocked players is that we'd have spent the season developing one of our own players instead. Look at how Goodnight has progressed this...
I fear he'll have gone back long before he reaches his best.
It's not his fault he was injured for half the time he's spending here, and he's clearly not "turd" at finishing. But his all round game particularly his lack of movement since returning from injury have left a lot to be desired...
His sole contributions this season have been two lovely finishes against pub team Ajax.
If the club sent him back tomorrow I wouldn't be upset.
I'm also running out of patience with Jakob Moder. Neat and tidy but what the f##k does he do?
In the long run, it might do us some good if he does go back to Barca as his old self. I mean other huge clubs are going to be far happier loaning out to this club if they see us as a good environment for their young superstars to spend a season.
And of course we'll see him again in the Nou...
Yes apparently not, but as I recall there was all sorts of bollocks suggesting we were interested in him (mostly his instigated by his agent I suspect), and consequently a multi page thread on him here.
Just wonderful that he continues to get better and better.
In another universe, we've out bid Palace for the services of Odsonne Eduard, Fati's signing never happened, and it's NSC with a 60 page thread moaning at his lack of goals and threat.
Oh well, back to this universe. We're the ones...
Superbly taken goal last night and now beginning to purr. Excellent. I was worried we might not see any of this.
The irony is that Ajax are the sort of club who should have been in for Ansu Fati when he became available. I can't help thinking a loan fee would have been money better spent...
I've got the feeling that we won't see the best of him for another couple of months, assuming he steers clear of injuries and works hard. We are lucky in that he has a clear pathway back to the Barca first team if that happens. It's not like he needs to be spotted or anything, he just needs to...
We don't really know what Palace offered, but I'm assuming it wasn't more than the £2m we paid for CMS PLUS his wages?
Being offered a contract means absolutely nothing without the detail. If he was offered a contract barely different from the league one contract, then it wasn't worth the...
It's simple, the club trusted Poyet's opinion that he wouldn't step up to the championship and they backed him by signing CMS. Obviously it is laughable now, and I was as gutted to see Murray go - especially to them - as you obviously were, because I too felt he was easily good enough. But...
It's so obvious what is going to happen here:
1) Fati is going to rediscover his form with us and score 15 goals before Christmas.
2) Chelsea will make an offer of £67m to Barcelona in January which will be accepted. We will be pissed off massively.
3) He will collide with Robert Sanchez in...
