Yep. Flailing around trying to cast blame on AZ and the UK to cover their abysmal vaccine procurement.

AZ only got the contract to use Oxford University science if UK supply was met as 1st commitment.

Everything from the EU on this is just deflecting the blame and trying to avoid responsibility. Makes me "furious". Bring back Juncker.

Hopefully all the stock piled vaccines are still usable (by EU or UK citizens).

its a great shame really. person of prominence, professor at a respectable university, makes assertion on social media without any supporting evidence. a responder shows evidence to counter their claim and is blocked. vaccine is less effective, it is not ineffective.

Is it? Theoretical studies have suggested it might be less effective, but I thought actual real life evidence suggested it worked fine?

In terms of the continental just now, EU countries even this week, are saying that the current third/fourth wave smothering them, is due in 80% of cases and deaths to the Kent Variant.

I've reported that tweet. It is a lie that the AZ vaccine "doesn't work" against the SA variant.

Supposedly they are cracking down on Covid disinformation, but we shall see.

So having initially banned it for the over 65's, they have now banned it for the under 60's. Presumably the people in the 60-64 age group can have their jabs as soon as they like - no beggar else is interested!

If you're on the banned list one day. I dare say it might be worth going back again next day because your group might be OK again while someone else is banned?
