Real Madrid Showing Interest In Brighton Boss

Brighton boss, Roberto De Zerbi, has been attracting a lot of attention in the football world with his exploits at the Amex Stadium, so it was inevitable that some of Europe's elite clubs would be showing interest in the Italian.

De Zerbi's style of football is one of the most attractive in the game, and this in turn, has made the manager an attractive proposition. Spanish giants Real Madrid are now said to be interested in making him their next boss.

Can Brighton Hold On To Their Man?

De Zerbi has discussed his love for the Seagulls on many occasions, but the lure of managing one of the most famous clubs in the world is huge. Real Madrid have often found themselves in the later stages of big tournaments, and are likely to continue being a major player. In this year's Champions League final betting, for example, they are considered third favourite — a responsibility and pressure that most managers could only dream of having.

Brighton have been enjoying an incredible spell under De Zerbi since he replaced fan favourite, Graham Potter, and his exciting, possession-based football has kept fans on the edge of their seats. The Italian has instilled a confidence in his players that has turned Brighton into one of the best attacking sides in the Premier League.

De Zerbi will have a difficult choice on his hands should Madrid come calling at the end of the season. On one hand, he will be keen to continue the project he has started at Brighton, but moving to the Spanish capital for this historic club may be too much to turn down.

Madrid On The Lookout For New Boss

One positive for Brighton fans is the fact that Real Madrid won't be making a possible move for De Zerbi until the end of the season. Fellow Italian, Carlo Ancelotti, is currently in charge at the Bernabeu, but his contract is up at the end of the season and he is set to head to pastures new at the end of the campaign.

Ancelotti, a two-time Champions League winner with Madrid, is rumoured to be the number one choice to take charge of the Brazilian national team next summer, meaning that Real will be on the lookout for a replacement going into the 2024/25 season.

Former player, Xabi Alonso, whose Bayer Leverkusen side are flying high in the Bundesliga, and club legend, Raul, who is currently coaching Madrid's B Team, are two other possibilities to take over from Ancelotti, but De Zerbi's style of football may swing things in his favour with Real's fans.

Los Blancos' fanatic supporters and the club as a whole love to win, but something that is equally as important is the style in which they win. 'De Zerbi Ball' would go down a treat at the Bernabeu, so unfortunately, Brighton may also be on the lookout for a new coach next summer.

Until then, The Seagulls will enjoy the continued success under the Italian boss. It is so far, so good in the Premier League in 2023 and the exciting Europa League adventure hasn't gone badly either.

Long live De Zerbi Ball at the Amex.
