They arrived today
I've soaked them, planted them this afternoon and there's just one more thing to do tonight, but I can't remember quite what

Blimey mine have been in for ages and have started coming up. Didn't know you were supposed to soak them!

Notters, they look to be planted a bit too deeply. It could just be my eyesight, but if they are, it might delay flowering for a couple of years

Lawn mower update.
Bloke fixed it.
I mowed lawn twice. Lovely.
Started screeching (the mower, not me,,,).
Now broken again, rope stuck.
Online videos say first check blade can rotate. Done that and is OK.

Are you absolutely sure that the problem is definitely at the bottom end of the mower handle

I’ve got no idea what that means!
The cord is stuck and won’t pull. A common cause apparently, and easily fixed, is a stuck blade - but sadly it isn’t that.
I think I need to open it up but am unlikely to have the required tools.

Well now I'm really confused.
15 and a half year old Jnr has been working really hard in the garden.
He's dug out the entire left side, which had laid untouched (beyond the routine Autumnal hedge trim) for about 5 years and is now a border again.
His efforts have made me somewhat proud.
For this he's been short changed and received £40!
So I said to him I'd get him an addition present.
I told him what it was.
He's immediate reaction was confusion, a little shocked, but as I reassured him I meant what I said he was positively ecstatic.
I don't think I've ever seen him so happy.
The confusing part comes from the fact when I gave him his present he became as despondent as he was happy.
I just don't understand:-

Perhaps he initially got excited when he realised he was getting a hoe. A dutch one at that!
