Same thing killed Barry Sheene in his 50's - mind he smoked like a chimney and I'd guess Captain Marvel didn't?

Just seen that headline, a bugger for him.
Reminded me of something I read last w/e about him. Not something I ever knew about him, but there was a tiny mention in a longer article about Fergie where it said something like "he had to deal with Robsons drinking". Did he have some sort of alcy problem ?

He was in the Man Utd drinking club alongside McGrath & Whiteside. They could put a fair bit away by all accounts and thats why Fergie shipped out 2 of the 3 to restore some sanity to the dressing room. According to the McGrath book which is an excellent read, they would on occasions take it too far particularly when injured when they should of been rehabilitating.
According to medics heavy drinking can also be conjusive to throat cancer, so possible link there.
