If we do loan him out, that leave us with zero of RDZ’s ‘3 players needed’. I understand why we wouldn’t go and get 3 first team ready players in this window, but will RDZ? He’s still not signed the contract.
I’ve gotten myself excited by this one. Seems a bit Bale-like in that he’s started at LB but seems to have potential to play lots of positions (very much an ‘us’ player). So he’s bound to end up somewhere else now isn’t he
I remember reading somewhere that Barco was very loyal to Boca and was willing to sign a new contract to allow them to get a higher fee. I remember it as I remember thinking at that time it seemed far too altruistic for a footballer. But it would be consistent with him signing a new deal and...
I’d love to see this happen but my gut feel is it will be a ‘Nunez’ in that he will go to a bigger/more glamorous club. Really hope my gut is wrong though. He ticks a lot of boxes, including being able to play further forward if Pervis is fit, and LB if he isn’t
Boca made it through the Copa Libertadores last night on pens which is probably not good news for getting this done (if there was ever a chance). At least in this window
Very odd that we didn’t just go in at the release clause if it’s 10m. But the club knows what they are doing I guess. Answers the question about the loan back (we would leave him there till December like Ali Mac).
That’s how I remember it and yes, I agree. Only 4 months difference and if he’s as much of a talent as he looks (reminds me of a young Bale looking at the videos) well worth it.
