I got slated for noting that months ago. Rather than play the ball out to Buananotte on his nearside wing, Groß would play a long diagonal ball to Mitoma on the opposite wing every damn time, clearly and deliberately cutting Buananotte out of the game
Despite the much-touted algorithm, the club can't just keep throwing 18 year olds at the first team and expect 100% of them to be EPL Ready. Buonanotte clearly isn't. Needs a season or two elsewhere to confirm his promise - or otherwise - a la Alzate
Buonanotte was so clearly unready for the EPL that in one late season game Webster and Gross simply cut him out of the game. As the smarter of us remarked on at the time. Fair enough RDZ throwing all the kids in at the deep end. But some of them are going to sink rather than swim. A season long...
RDZ deemed Buonanotte worthy of a start. As such, there's no way that senior players such as Webster and Groß should 'of' taken it upon themselves to cut him out of the game
Complete passenger today, the players appeared unwilling to pass to him. And - maybe as a result - his confidence was shot to shit. Opted for getting rid of the ball with soft short sideways/backwards passes instead of ever attempting to beat his man. Today will have set him back a bit, sadly
Two words. Federico. Turienzo.
Love the story, possibly even true, about how he was bitching and moaning in Withdean dressing room about his wages. At which point the rest of the dressing room's jaws dropped. And not in a good way
Maybe in time. Unless of course he actually IS The New Messi. Which would be an astounding coup for the Albion. Hope his contract comes with eye-watering levels of compo for when Chelsea inevitably come calling
