The biggest issue IMO is that with his skillset as you say he likes to cut inside. This wouldn't be an issue if he was paired with say an Estupinan type fullback who overlaps him. However he is often paired with a fullback who doesn't overlap as much, Groß, Milner or Veltman for example. If he...

With a pacey FB on the outside it would open up space for him to cut inside or play the FB in. Look at Mitoma, part of why he's so effective is he has Estupinan on the overlap constantly who draws a man away.

I think he'd be fine on the right if he had Lamptey as the fullback so that there was someone running beyond him. With Veltman there he doesn't have that assistance going forward.

I meant to say that Enciso is better on the left and Buonanotte on the right but mistyped.

He went past the fullback multiple times but there was no options for him after that. Enciso is best wide right cutting in or behind the striker. Buonanotte is similar but probably best centrally.

Our best chance in the first half came from a great ball from Buonanotte to the back post, Mitoma squared and Welbeck got his shot blocked.

Gilmour can cover the CM position though, freeing up other players to play the forward roles and cover for Buonanotte being away.

The way I see it Enciso is 6 months further along in the process and is starting to come good. Buonanotte has looked decent despite being 6 months behind, his potential is scary.

Also Caicedo and Estupinan have mentioned him as the funniest and everyone seems to like him. I think he'll come good but at the moment he's trying too hard. Once he gets more settled and more comfortable in the first team he'll shine.

Mac was the number 10 when he was playing the youth tournaments and Olympics.

Enciso looked very good in his cameo against Arsenal I thought. He's energetic and clearly talented but perhaps needs to improve his decision making.

Marcos Leonardo is one to watch out for. Seems to have a lot of the attributes to be a top forward but he wouldn't be cheap that's for sure.

He also has to be 18 to join anyway. FIFA rules around players moving from SA.

Everything I've seen implies that for his talent and potential he's currently worth around £6-10m but if he was in the Brazilian league far more. Mostly it's South Americans being excited that clubs like us are looking at their players rather than MLS/Mexican teams as they develop far better...
