This time next season we will be saying ‘Can we hang on to Baleba?’. He had only made 21 appearances as a professional footballer when we signed him and was still at secondary school when we Potter was managing us. Give him a chance FFS! He’s going to be amazing.
I wondered this too. Because RDZ doesn’t strike me as the kind of person who admits when he is wrong easily. To go against Bloom and win on that transfer, and then give up on the player after 6 months doesn’t make sense to me. I would have envisaged more of a ‘Why does RDZ keep playing Dahoud...
Even if they wanted to leave and those offers came in? I just can’t see it. The only difference might be that they would be less likely to want to leave if they were playing at top clubs, I guess.
Agreed. I think an extended clap for RDZ as he walks around the pitch followed by a deafening ten minute long ‘Tony Bloom’s Blue and White Army’ would send the message perfectly.
I’m so bored with hearing this line. We had two world class players who wanted to leave, and we got offered £160 million+ for them. Only Man City and perhaps Real Madrid would have possibly been able to hold on to them in the whole of world football. We then spent €30 million on a teenager as a...
I have a good mate who is a Saints fan. He is adamant they have got to where they have got to this season despite Martin. He says they have one way of playing and stick to it what ever happens, have no plan b and Martin completely refused to play pragmatically at any time, meaning they lose...
It really isn’t. Unless there is a new one I haven’t heard. And you know exactly what I mean about being sung by other clubs- tell me one song (apart from GOSBTS) that we sing that isn’t sung by other clubs. We almost never come up with anything original.
I don’t think that’s true at all. If anyone really can’t learn the lines to the Caicedo or Pedro songs (both sung by most other clubs in the country) then I think they have a much bigger problem than the Albion’s atmospher- dressing themselves in the morning.
What, for suggesting that a player who played for us 40+ years ago who has repeatedly turned up and allowed fans to buy him drinks every couple of seasons for years now might not be the all-time club revered legend he once was to the majority of our support in 2024?
It feels a fairly reasonable...
