Nice to see that as a result of losing Kewell, Leeds go and poach the best young prospect Palace have had in years.

Marvellous scenes.

Leeds have moved to fill the gap left by Harry Kewell's acrimonious departure to Liverpool by swooping for young prosect Julian Gray.

The Crystal Palace winger, who started his career at Arsenal, is expected to complete his 'dream move' to Elland Road within the next fortnight.

He has been training with Peter Reid's side and hopes to sign full-time once a compensation package is agreed between the two clubs.

His representatives, Proactive Sports Group said: "Julian is training with Leeds this week. He's highly impressed with the club and the set-up and would see a move to Leeds as being a dream move.

"Proactive are obviously aware Leeds are looking for a certain calibre of young player to fill the gap left by Harry Kewell."

Gray hit the headlines last season with FA Cup goals for Palace against Leeds and Liverpool, but the 23-year-old refused to sign an improved deal to stay at Selhurst Park and is currently out of contract.

Palace are entitled to compensation for the former Arsenal player because he is under 24 and talks between the two clubs are at an advanced stage.
