Former Southampton, Leeds, Middlesbrough and Brighton striker Ian Baird has joined the coaching staff at Nationwide Conference club Stevenage Borough.

Baird, 39, scored almost 150 league and cup goals during his career and has been brought in to work with the first-team squad at Broadhall Way by boss Graham Westley.

"He will bring valuable coaching skills to the squad to supplement the excellent talent already working with the team," said Westley (pictured), whose side are expected to challenge for the Conference title this season.
