For reference I mentioned current new cases in many parts of Europe being 10-20% of ours, not falities. It's incredibly odd that countries with high mask wearing, be it mandatory or voluntary,seen to have hugely reduced new case numbers.

Ah that's it! A country with the highest pro rata fatalities in Europe, had the most ineffective track and trace system, and most infective PPE procurement somehow has managed to accurately assess a true figure of case numbers!!!... Damn those cheating Europeans! no wonder they all have to...

Is there anyone with an explanation of why countries that are assiduously following mask wearing guidelines such as France, Spain, Italy, and Germany have something like 10-20% of the new case numbers that we have daily?

Even if wearing a mask reduces your chance of passing on or catching Covid by 1% it helps the bigger picture. What have we got to lose by wearing a face mask regularly and properly.

Commonsense says we should all be encouraged or legally enforced to wear masks in certain places. However, Johnson can't re enforce mask wearing as that then becomes a tacit admission that he should not have lifted mask wearing rules in the first place!

The government have just ruled out a winter lockdown... However, its a real no brainer to wear a mask and mitigate the crisis.
