Viruses mutate which is why there are already four variants. There seems to be another one albeit a slower one. Hopefully the booster jabs have this one covered. 1452624550441725954

The numbers are increasing. My sister in law, brother in law, their respective spouses, and two adult nephews all have covid. They are all quite unwell with it, despite being fully vaccinated. The only good news (for us) is that it was three weeks ago when we visited them.

France now recognises the Indian version of the AZ vaccinations. It’s also not necessary for double vaccinated travellers to provide a PCR test to travel there from the U.K. we 18th July. Non vaccinated people over 12 will have to, plus have an essential reason for travel.

The EMA don’t recognise it as a valid vaccine, but 9 European countries have said they will. I think the others will follow suit.

Yes, that's generally how vaccines work. I was thinking more of people who have already had the virus and recovered. It's a strange one, because when swine flu attacked young people, we were told if anyone had had the Hong Kong flu 67/68, we were immune. I looked after my granddaughter because...

Who is going to be administering it? The military? I don’t understand why pharmacies such as Boots & Lloyds cannot help out, as has been pointed out, they handle thousands of flu jabs each autumn. The only reason I can see is the distancing/hygiene may be an issue.

I had to see my GP yesterday. When you ring the surgery, there is an automatic message to listen to before speaking to the receptionist. It says not to ring the surgery about access to the vaccine, as the local centre will be based at the Racecourse. My own surgery has no supplies of the vaccine.
