Well those who are saying "we can't live with Covid" are not really providing any suggestions how to deal with it. Covid will likely be around permanently, are we going to hide from this disease forever?
Masks never really caught on over here. At peak times maybe 2 out of 10 wore masks on the bus etc. And I havent seen any numbers that indicate masks would make a significant difference.
I was initially, during the first month, calling for more measures here in Sweden. But once it turned out...
"We're all gonna get nuked to death" is out, "we're all going to die from plague" is back in.
Very strange how the media (and govts all over the world) after two years of doomsday stuff one day just made a complete stop and said "'tis all good, no problem anymore" and everyone just bought that...
Belgium lots of deaths despite using pretty much all the tools in the box, same with Lithuania and several other countries with high covid deaths per million. Some countries that were really not doing much, like Turkey and Sweden, managed better than the ones mentioned above and also better than...
Interesting opinion. I've heard it before: masks, social distancing, lockdowns... all very important, apparently.. but no difference between countries that took those measures and those who didnt.
A little jealous about you getting rid of the covid passes... here it just beginning and likely to stay a long while as the people in charge here does not like rapid changes (for good and bad).
According to media we're also all supposed to be dead by now, with thousands of people being admitted to hospital each day due to Covid.
Saying that unvaccinated people are 28 times more likely to die from Covid is a conclusion made on flawed/twisted statistics. I'm not saying the vaccine...
Based on what I've seen from lurking the web for 21 years... it appears to be a bit difficult.
Especially in such a high-stake subject. Half are afraid of dying and half are afraid of stop living.
There's several people, including you, who come in here often with the "agenda" (opinion) that there should be harsh measures, lockdowns etc. and there are several people who come in here with the "agenda" (opinion) that there currently shouldnt be any of that. It is a divisive subject.
Like other celebs who take that stance, he is probably mainly speaking to those already convinced.
SAGE, on the other hand, will make sure thousands of people are going to permanently question "scientific advise" and start to ask themselves what the agenda is.
Not a bad idea, it wouldnt bring everyone to vaccinate themselves but certainly some. I'd very much consider getting jabbed if I was offered that kind of money.
Oh yeah he'd like that... The covid vaccine is the only product they have. A situation where people dont need new jabs and boosters every 6th months or so would be a disaster for them.
There is probably a lot of cases right now (the number of cases in football teams is probably a decent indicator) and that will also probably remain the case for the foreseeable future (in covid terms that would be the next few months). Not unexpected really. But it doesnt necessarily mean it...
Currently we have a lot of sanity here and as a population we're not exactly known to go into any kind of panic or hysteria (positive or negative) and its all very... calm and boring. Could see it changing if/when cases here go up.
I dont think that is a clever way to go about it.
In every country you have what we could call "loudspeakers" - media, experts, celebreties and later the echos in the population.
People want to make decisions that they believe are independent and free will, so when the loudspeakers say:
"Hi...
