I didn't feel right for a couple of weeks after my 2nd Pfizer. On the 2nd night I was awake from 1am to 4am with heart palpitations and cold sweats. It's pretty potent stuff. I'm not getting a booster any time soon, as far as I'm concerned I'm covered from risk of serious illness so why risk...

It's rammed at Clair hall. Had to queue for 30 mins, just had a Pfizer jab and now sat in the chill out area.

I guess it depends how high your bar of success is. Even with the supply issues they'll still be vaccinating at a rate of 200k ish a day. Most people wouldn't class that as a derailment or shaky. Look on the good news thread and see how far hospital admissions and deaths have dripped in the...

I think it's already been pointed out, but the EU does not manufacture or ship vaccines. VDL is trying to cover her arse because her and the other failed politician from Cyprus didn't invest enough in building supply chains to fulfill their order.

And the weirdest thing is that it's coming from government health departments. WTF is that about?

Some good analysis in this article on why France and Germany are vaccinating more slowly at the moment. Anyone calling for certain professions to be given priority should read this, the logistics of the task have slowed the rollout on the continent. I think it vindicates the UK approach to keep...

I bet she was so excited when she saw that e-mail that a little bit of wee came out! Good for her, she's got another reason to stick the boot in :clap2:

I don't know how many times I need to say it, Boris Johnson did not come up with the 12 week gap. If JCVI, who I imagine are pretty good at these things, say it's a better model for our current predicament then we should probably trust them? Literally anything can be used as an excuse to...

The decision has been made by JVCI and SAGE. People talk about this as if Hancock and Johnson just pulled the policy out of thin air. I can't remember his name but one of the World's top vaccine experts who was involved in the Oxford group had said that it would have to behave differently to...

That is a bit of a bugger. The initial decision was always based on modeling. I assume they'll feed the new data into their models and base policy aground it.

A common theme on the Brexit thread was about EU buying power. This is absolute proof that size isn't everything and it hasn't helped the Commission in this instance. While they dithered and played industrial politics by having to buy equal amounts of French and German vaccine we were securing...

To be fair it's not really an issue in Australia with very few cases and a small population. They can afford to do a slow rollout of Pfizer vaccine at the recommended intervals. In Europe we didn't really have that luxury.

I read earlier that they cocked up the original letter. The next batch being sent out say that if you can't get to the big venues you'll be contacted by your GP at a later date.

Yes I am. I'm saying that (POLITICIAN) MP Paul Williams is at the very least embellishing the truth to push an agenda. If he didn't have an agenda then he wouldn't make that last comment. It doesn't give any detail, it's an empty anecdote designed to give his anti Brexit followers a stiffy.

This is what they found: 2% were "eager" to get the COVID-19 vaccine 39% were "willing" 10% were "not bothered" 9% were "unwilling" 5% were "anti-vaccination" for COVID-19

I'm happy to take it. The greater good is more important. All the vaccines are based on existing technology, the risk of long term effects must be pretty small.
