They seemed to be really cracking on with it.
I imagine most of it will be prefabricated off site so once the groundwork is done it will probably be completed in a matter of weeks
I think it would be amazing if they used the club shop space to create a two floor supporters bar, the Upper floor could lead to the north stand shelf/hospitality area by escalators
Build the club shop away from the ground on one of the corners perhaps.
It will be an incredible addition but probably won't be big enough to cater for the demand.
I think a couple of these for those who want to grab a beer then shelter from the elements would be ideal for when the fanzine is at capacity
I agree, it would look amazing but just cant see being possible as those dog head supports sit right behind the cladding and are angled inwards. I guess it might be possible to wrap the west and east stand wings up to the roof supports then have a gap then add a few rows in the centre in of the...
It will only ever be a dream I'm afraid, a proper upper tier would only be possible if they removed the concrete supports that hold the roof supports in place and made costly structural changes. Would easily run into the mid 10's of millions I'd imagine which wouldn't make sense to add less than...
Anyone know if and when this application will go to committee or be recommended for approval? The initial consultation was two months ago and as far as I can see there's only been one comment objecting the proposal
Yeah take your point. I would just like another option that doesn't feel like an airport lounge or conference lounge. Something I could treat myself to for a birthday. Decent beer in a proper glass and something that resembles a pub then watch the match from a decent vantage with like minded...
Well none like that but it was proposal for something a bit different. Corporate could be a bit different IMO, catering for people who night be keen to do it as a one off
I think it could add to the atmosphere if it was marketed to those who fancy a corporate experience in a more relaxed setting. Tickets could be sold on a match by match basis and marketed to stag do's, birthdays, company beanos ect. If it was it was set up like pub, with a band, pool tables...
I worked in a pub that had a strict capacity, on the weekend the doorstaff counted ins and and outs. The capacity was 280 and it felt packed to the rafters more like 1000, I think its deceptive.
No idea of the capacity of dicks bar but my experience in pubs whatever the think the capacity is you can normally at least half.
I wouldn't be surprised if the capacity is maximum 300
Agreed would be better to apply for match day use only then apply for a change of use later.
No planning expert but seems to be the normal way people go about things. Start with the gentle peck on the cheek and go for smashing the backdoors in later
I hope when you're watching the big game, noodles dripping down your chin, a slut on one arm table football handle on the other, tapping your feet to Elton and off you're tree on NOS you'll spare a thought for those poor bats who've been randomly hitting things since 2011
I dont know the capacity of Dicks but when it closes I imagine this new area will become very busy. Would be good if they could add a few extra covered areas where fans could congregate.
Maybe something like this.....
Regardless of the capacity or whether I'd be able to get a seat it will just be amazing to grab a beer, some food and be able to use a toilet pre match.
My preference is always to enter the stadium as late as possible, my first memories of Brighton games was the buzz of walking on to the stands...
