Could turn out to be a good signing for West Ham but he didn’t seem to want to come to us on the financial deal we were offering.
We stick with our model that’s served us well so far.
Pedro cost £30m which is around the price we agreed with Ajax for Kudus, and he seems pleased to be here.
Yes, I thought he was very downbeat. He probably went out of his way to convince him to come and maybe initial response was encouraging.
It must be frustrating.
I’ve also heard somewhere that it was De Zerbi pushing for him and I also believe he spoke to him to convince him to come here.
However, I’m sure that Roberto doesn’t want someone coming who isn't completely committed.
It appears that he’s had quite some time since the bid was accepted. I appreciate that he’ll be waiting to see if a better offer comes along but at some stage he has to realise that in doing that some deals that have been on the table are withdrawn.
Even if he is going to be a great player, we really don’t want anyone here who doesn’t want to be here. ( Micky Thomas from early 1980s as an example).
Compare that to Igor who has been Mr positivity since he’s arrived, and the fabulously talented Joao Pedro who has settled in brilliantly...
Best we know now that he doesn’t fancy it here. Would have been better a month ago.
Let’s hope we have a decent back up. Ideally someone that has experience and capability at DM.
Don Mitchell isn’t particularly reliable. I think he mooted Mohammed Camara to us or Leeds last summer and he ended up going to Monaco I think.
I expect he does have some knowledge but he also tweets some very random stuff.
Camara would be a great Caicedo replacement by the way but would be...
If the player has been stalling for that long I’m not sure I’d want him.
Prefer a bigger budget on a Caicedo replacement if needed.
As Roberto said yesterday, I have a lot of attacking players.
Maybe we already think this one is dead in the water and it’s only been given airtime by Ajax...
I think we may have let our initial excitement get the better of us on this one. I expect he may have another offer on the table. Let’s put it this way. If Caicedo goes to Chelsea I expect Kudus comes
here. If Caicedo stays I think we may see Kudus at Chelsea.
Hasn’t Barber said that the difficult task is selling players, not buying them.
It’s vital for our continued success to sell, and of course, keep the conveyer belt of new incoming talent, going.
As Albion fans we’ve been educated to understand this.
Fans of the like of Arsenal, United etc...
Agreeing terms with the player doesn’t mean that much... see Moises.
I reckon they are planning their backup and I think it’s a ploy in a game of brinkmanship with Brighton.
Winstanley is probably determined to get one over us, or at least hold his own.
