Yep (y)
This one from August 2009 when the pavement was in a much better condition than it is now. And the pavements look similar in size both sides ... they change width along the route.
The sign in the screen shot is on the opposite side of the road to where the incident occurred. Whether or not there should be signs on side of the incident - who knows??
There's a shared space sign on a lamppost other side of the road. Just the one ... which is really poor signage from local authority. The pavement by the sign is also in a quite shocking state in places ... there's a surprise!
There are no white lines or any other markings as far as I can see...
I agree (y) I usually give a first tinkle someway off. Sometimes people hear it, in which they've got loads of time to give me some space. If I get no response I try again ... but if I end up getting very close I will slow to a virtual stop and then speak to them along the lines of, "morning...
Definitely! I've had one of those leads wrapped around my legs on that path ... fortunately I was walking and not cycling on that occasion ... so I just had a little stumble rather than a potential fall off my bike!
You've just blown your argument by talking about e-scooters and cyclists riding ay 25mph on a pavement:shrug:
Anyone that is capable of riding at that speed will be on a fast road - not a pavement! Something does need to be done about youngsters that are old enough to be on the road and ride...
This is spot on ... the 'cyclists' you describe in (2) wind me up as someone who makes a point of riding respectfully.
This is a sign on N2 near The Perch, Lancing. It describes what you mention in point (1) perfectly.
It asks for everyone to be courteous (if only)! I've lost count of the...
From BBC article I posted on page 1 ...
In police interview, Grey said she believed she had made light contact with Mrs Ward.
So she admitted she had made contact!
The convicted woman is seen flicking her arm out in the early part of the clip. If you slow the clip down you can see right at the end that she has started to extend her arm again. The way the woman on the bike fell into the road suggests to me that it was as a result of some sort of push.
BUT...
The problem with that is the majority of people I see cycling on pavements are either of the older generation and youngsters … so they’re potentially vulnerable if forced to always ride on roads. Yes, others do ride on pavements when they really should be on the road … and that pees me off too...
I do the same …. but also when I’m walking on a shared path I will give way to cyclists when it is the safer thing to do. For example, on N2 after The Perch heading west there’s a narrow section of shared pavement before the path and cycle lane splits again on way to Worthing. I step right...
