I was in student halls, then a house, both just round the corner, from 1989-1992. It was our closest pub by far, so in there a fair bit. It didn't seem a bad place then, tbh. It either went downhill quickly afterwards, or we were just hopelessly naïve / drunk / generally oblivious!
