Very much this. At his age I was an irresponsible, immature waste of time spending all my time having fun (unbelievable, I know :wink:) and it was a couple of years later that I finally knuckled down, got a proper job and worked at it.
Hopefully for Aaron there's still time for him to do this...
I can only imagine the club invested the same amount of thought, time and money into nurturing Connolly as went into Sanchez, Lamptey, White, Caicedo, AliMac, Moder, Cuc, Sarmiento, Encisco etc etc and considerably more than went into Dunk and Solly :shrug:
Looks like another sad story. I think it is very easy to underestimate the level of Maturity needed by what are really young lads having the world at their feet.

I've always supported Connolly and hoped that there would be a way for Aaron to turn it round, given he was blessed with some great natural skills. He's still only a young lad, obviously very naïve and with nowhere near the maturity of Lamptey, Caicedo, Alzate, Sarmiento, Moder, Cucurella, Mac...
Who can seriously put their hand on their heart and say that they haven't suffered from some ex, who was great in bed but then turned out to be a complete psycho, turning up pissed outside their front door in the early hours when they were young and stupid ?

Well it certainly wasn't happening for him here the last season or so, and it appears that maybe it's not happening there. Maybe he needs to think about the reasons why and what he can do about them ???
He looked a great prospect when he first broke through, but youngsters are renowned for developing at different rates and he seems to have stagnated. Let's hope this works out well and we get back a better, more experienced and more confident striker. The only two regulars of a similar age are...
