There is no challenge at Newcastle - he can put his feet up and watch them inevitably winning the league in a couple of years time - whilst counting his cash.
I'm loving Tony's handling of Cashworth's resignation.
Puts a real marker down that no one is going to be able to poach Potter on the cheap and that we will be very robust in dealing with any approach.
He could. Although I doubt Newcastle would be allowed to hire him within the rules of the PL/FA during the gardening leave time frame. That's speculation, by the why. The alternative is an unregulated, Wild West situation within the league
Very interesting that Cashworth has been held to his notice period meaning compensation wasn't agreed.
A contrast with the ease of the Dan Burn transfer.
One deal was clearly done the right way and the other not so much.
Tony very much laying down a marker that if anyone wants to take...
Not that fussed about the effect Ashworth leaving will have on the club.
Tony protects the club interests pretty well.
Ashworth has done the initial work of setting systems up, we might need different skills moving forward.
My only concern - not megabucks offers for Trossard or Bissouma etc...
