I stayed up the night to listen to Leonard v Hagler on the old Radio 2. The grouping (I know they didn't all meet) of Hearns, Hagler, SRL, Benitez and Duran was astonishing. Add Bruce and Don Curry, Bramble, Mancini, Arguello, the list goes on.
ITV used to show the fights in full a few days...
I was following up on the story Lenny Rider mentioned that Ali (without the Vietnam ostracization) would've in effect fought until early 74, then retired.
In which case he would've missed circa 100 rounds against Holmes, Norton 3, Shavers, L.Spinks x 2, Lyle, with prime Ali settling the Frazier...
Whisper it quietly, it is possible to like both Fury and Joshua.
I do.
Britain 2022 ….. everything’s laughably binary opinions, if you don’t like, you must despise.
Anyone’s guess, but you may well be right.
None of those to me had the complete skill set of a great defence, full array of punches, expertly able to box, a decent chin, and the rarity in the division of being loose (not muscle bound).
Lennox Lewis and Fury imho did, good point about...

Wilder’s long list of KO’s were based on that right hand and the intimidatory reputation that built with it. Until Fury took it to him, negating that one...
Totally agree. With the second stoppage, the guy’s senses had gone, it was obvious.
After that, experience/‘guts’ gave a false impression that he could protect himself.
I still love the sport at the top end. I’m used to the annoying politics, starting with the WBA and WBC schism back in the day, with fighters/promoters avoiding unifications. Also, almost certainly corruption with astonishing decisions.
It is was it is, we can’t change it. I still admire...
Watching old fights on youtube, I hate it when refs allow a couple of KO’s too many or a few too many semi-unprotected flurries once a fighter is almost certainly going to lose. Much safer endings now, usually.
Froch v Groves 1 may’ve ended a tad earlier, but when you watch the finale, Froch...
