Just been to sainsbury's as Morrisons has become a bun fight. They're still taking it really seriously, only fifty people allowed in the store, it was a pleasure.
You really don't think that likely? I think a lot will be sticking two fingers up to the government as a result.
Be interesting to see what happens on Wednesday when summer is over - will people start having big house parties?
I don't know, pensioners have been amongst the worse round here.
I've just been to the garden centre in my lunch break - in the hope that it would be quieter than at the weekend. Unfortunately it was full of dippy old ladies standing as close to you as possible, particularly the ones with...
Have you tried cycling? I'd say 99% of pedestrians pretend cyclists are invisible and walk as close to them as possible. I do swerve out of their way if there isn't a car alongside me.
The other thing about meeting family members is of course travelling. For us, my family are 260 miles away in...
A colleague of mine and a friend of my wife's are both travelling long distances this weekend to see relatives - it really seems the lockdown is over whether the government wants it to be or not.
I don't disagree with you but people do not use their heads.
I went for a walk with my family along the canal yesterday. I chose the most remote section I could and also with a wide enough tow-path for a car to drive down.
But there were large families all over it on their bikes and they made...
How would they do that on the steps to the beach or the narrow paths?!
Anyone seeing that many cars on arrival should drive on, not park up.
I just don't understand why people have to flock to the main honeypots rather than using their imaginations and going somewhere a bit more isolated.
I keep saying reported that the peak of infections occurred before lockdown, but have seen very little analysis of this. Does this mean the virus is naturally running its course regardless of lockdown?
Can't say I've noticed a difference here. Cycled six miles along one of the main roads between Leeds and York and saw about four cars. Normally I wouldn't take my bike on there.
Had similar near here (though without the coughing fortunately). We have a disused railway line which is now a pedestrian and cycle path (on the Sustrans network). I tend to cycle along it at about a quarter of the pace I would on the road. Came towards a dog walker, rang my bell expecting him...
Agreed!
Except re the lake which is frequently dyed black due to the toxicity of the water (see link below) but seems to have been picked up by the media anyway for a story.

Leeds City Council has, in its wisdom, opened the new playground up the road from us today, which has been under construction for months. Absolutely packed.
Good lord.
Yes it's literally the reason why this virus is bad news. I really don't understand why they're not putting out loads of information bulletins in between episodes of eastenders etc.
No-one is suggesting sitting around moping. I will be growing vegetables in the garden and going for runs on Ilkley Moor personally. But not with other people.
I think most people are taking it seriously.
As I said on another thread I'm surprised there haven't already been some hard hitting public service broadcasts (a la AIDS) to explain WHY this needs to be done for the hard of thinking.
