Year 2 of making changes to a daily bottle of wine drinking routine.
Last year reached 192 days not drinking. Most of them in a block from Jan to June. Was happy with that.
This year went alcohol free till July but then drank solid to end of October. Dry November going well and fairly buzzing...
Day 85 for this year and planning to beat last years 122 consecutive days from Jan 3 to May. Also feel I’ll avoid going on a 3 month drinking run when I start again.
I’ve become addicted to not drinking.
My 50th day today. Will celebrate with a licorice tea during the match. Aiming for the ton again. Finding not drinking much easier than last year and will work hard to not drink all June, July and August like 2020.
I failed in December and finished the year on 193 days free. Very happy with that result. We can learn from that.
I think I went on a 21 day wine blitz knowing I had another 100 days abstinence plan for the start of 2021. Bad discipline but it happened.
The good news is I’m finding it easier...
My Dad died at 62 years old. Little sign of any liver left and failing kidneys. Although I've never been anywhere near that level of drinking it does help me mentally to cut back.
That's the App I use. It's helped but I would like an App that registers what I drink on the drinking days. On Sunday I celebrated reaching 183 days by drinking a bottle and half of red. Yesterday was a wash out. It's a work in progress and I'm slowly changing my mindset.
Target for 2020 is now...
100 days off at the start of the year, a lot of days on in the summer and only 7 days drinking in last 6 weeks has put me on 183 days of abstinence. Half the year free, best effort by far in 45 years drinking and I’m happy with that.
Is my glass half empty or half full?
I’ve been an event drinker and daily bottle of red drinker for 42 years.Fit and healthy at 60.
Stopped Jan 5th and now day 84. Heading for my ton but will have to go beyond with the lockdown. A bottle of wine would go down like a pint of Harvey’s and then lead to another half bottle and...
Day 68 for me. 6 days away from my longest spell of abstinence since 1976.
Plan was to not drink until after the Brighton Marathon. That’s just been pushed back to September and might not happen at all this year.
50 days today. £500 + saved and 31,000 calories not drunk.
Third year in a row for a half century. This year I’m determined to get my maiden century.
Cheers everyone.
Well done for the 7 months. Decision to be made but a great position to be in.
I'm entering month 2 relatively easily and determined to get the hundred.
For 3 years I've tried to go from 7th January (friend's Birthday) to Brighton Marathon getting a 100 days free.
2018 55 days.
2019 70 days, was going well but a trip to Wembley put paid to that.
2020 20 days and counting. I am going to make the 100 this year.
After that I'll have to fight to...
