Guehi was absolutely schooled by Fergie and Pedro for the time he was on the pitch. I even commented on the match day thread how disappointing it was for us that he was going off.
But if it was a hamstring, as they say, it's pretty much impossible to play 3 or 4 days later. It's a multi-week recovery. I had a hamstring "tweak" (not a tear) playing Sunday League football in my mid-twenties and I could still feel the damned thing 6 months later.
We played better than OK in the first half. They hardly touched the ball for 45 minutes except to pick it out of the net 3 times. Admittedly we got sloppy in the second-half.
The whole story is strange. If it was a hamstring, as they say it was, the idea of playing 3 days later is preposterous. If it was something else, and the medical team said he was OK to play but not for 90 minutes, why say it was a hamstring?
Possibly it was down to Roy bullying the medical team...
There was some goon on Fascist Twitter a few days ago saying that 7 Palace players get into the joint Palace/Brighton team. A slightly less insane Palace fan (but still certifiable) replied that it was no more than 4🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
On last night's performance is there actually a single Palace player who...
Roy's post-match interview last night was a thing of beauty. An epic combination of MacMillan's "You've never had it so good" and Marie Antionette's "Let them eat cake".
He is very prickly in his old age.
Strange interview from Hodgson last night. He complained that the question "how do you assess tonight" was not specific enough and it was difficult to give an answer.
He has become Victor Meldrew.
For all the stick Roy has had in recent times, including his unfortunate England experience, his career track record is top-notch and there's no way he was an ultra-defensive coach at Fulham. They were scintillating in their European campaign.
