As a life long pessimist, I was more than fully aware of the Brexit downsides. But it's even worse than I thought it would be, impoverishing our citizenry (some of whom were misguided enough to vote for it) in increasing numbers with each passing week.

Not so sure whether to laugh or cry when Lord Snooty claims that checks at the border will be 'an act of self harm'. Many of us used this phrase to sum up the whole Brexit car crash (and a long time before it happened).

Cornwall to get less than 50% of the regional funding that it received from the EU. This is despite the liar Johnson assuring that this wouldn't happen and in the face of the levelling up nonsense. Shame that they voted for this. But they were warned.

The trade experts at Sussex Uni estimated that the benefits from the newly signed (and much heralded) trade deals amount to about 50p per head of the population. And that the trade lost was about 170 times that value. Happy to be corrected if wrong, but I'm really beginning to think that not...

Interesting and insightful but I would be wary of generalising across the population as a whole. To balance things out (a little) look at the drop in Johnson's approval ratings. Evidence and rationality can still prevail.
