Just heard on Planet Rock - Motorhead cover of Bowies' "Heroes" - nearly but not quite better than the original.

Not sure about spanking the original but just heard the Greta Van Fleet (Michigan based hard/heavy rock band) cover of the quintessentially British folk ballad "Meet On The Ledge" by Fairport Convention. Perhaps we should have an "unexpected cover versions" thread?

Heard the original - "Downtown Train" - by Tom Waits on Planet Rock earlier today. His song but Rod Stewart did it better.

Yes, that "Walking in the Air", but done in a prog/opera/metal stylee. They are from Finland which for some reason comes as absolutely no surprise to me.
