Thanks for asking, the weather here has been amazing, lots of blue sky and sunshine, not the silly temperatures of home, which has been nice.
We couldn’t get the whole way round as the far end at Gatesgarth wasn’t buggy friendly. We drove away from Buttermere up the Honiston Pass, that really...
I’m running a Nikon D5100 with a selection of lenses (worth more than my wife knows, so don’t tell her).
We are staying in Threlkeld, few miles from Keswick, so low light pollution might help. I like the idea of a permanently attached tripod or monopod, but it’s just too difficult, as I’m...
I know this is normally somewhere people show off their latest photos, but I'm hoping it's also somewhere questions can be asked too.
We are off to the Lake District next week and I really want to get some good landscape pictures.
In particular I would like to get front to back sharp focused...
Took a trip to Leeds Castle yesterday, lovely walk and nice and quiet as it was a week day. Didn't take my camera with me as it’s just more to carry when you've got a buggy to push!

Since Covid hit, and with our home situation, I haven't been able to get out much to take any photos.
So it was yesterday I found myself looking back through my hard drive and found this picture I would like to share. It wasn't taken on safari or anything so grand, but if my memory serves me...
Continuing my tour of Kent - Kingsgate Castle, Broadstairs, taken from the car park of the Captain Digby pub... which may explain why the alignment is slightly pissed!
One from the collection I'm afraid. This was taken from the deck of a fantastic yurt we were staying at a couple of years ago!
I was too slow on this occasion and missed the hot air balloons heading for Headcorn airport!
Again, can't beat the Kingfishers - never actually seen one in the wild, let alone two, let along take a photograph of them!!!
Anyway, here's my latest offering - this is the twin towers of the old church at Reculver, near Herne Bay, Kent.
I like the drain pipe as it gives the picture an extra line, just wasn't sure about the bucket - guess it makes it more real life though.
Still a good picture whichever way, well done...
