It will mean cyclists who hurt others will serve long prison sentences. Until now next to impossible to dish out more than a slap on the wrist.

Watching the Milan - San Remo on Eurosport. Lovely to see Orla again . The competitors are averaging 28.6mph over 185 miles

Cycling’s El Hadj Diouf? Mathieu van der Poel, the cycling world champion, spat into the crowd after deciding that he had “had enough” of fans jeering him. Van der Poel, world champion in both road race and cyclocross disciplines, took victory at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in Hulst in the...

A few years ago we stayed in Orleans to break the journey driving back from Spain. A beautiful city centre and cathedral.

I’ll have to buy one when cash permits  . Keep spending it on my passion skiing.

My parents have lived there for 40 years bar a brief gap, me too in a couple of spells. Interesting. Would one of the others be east of Ditchling Road? With BHCC rewilding the golf course, have they got anything lined up for biking?

I’ve walked that before. Paradise. No vehicle noise, views of a shimmering sea, wildlife aplenty, far from the madding crowd. Yet next to a city.

@nickbrighton sorry to hear about the finale to your riding days. Hopefully you’ll find another exercise and interest. Wishing you a full recovery. I was going to post here the other day about the deterioration in driving standards. I say that as both a car driver and a fitness rides cyclist...

His tyres can be a magnet for punctures :lolol: . Mainly I think from tiny flints on the under-cliff walk. Bearing in mind also (I'm guessing) hopping on-off kerbs ... would the gravel bike give equal protection to punctures and vigorous riding?

Cheers, we’ll do that. It wasn’t bike snobbery on our part against Decathlon :), I forgot that they sell bikes.

Thanks as ever. Can I tap your knowledge on MTB bike sizing? My son hates a relatively ‘small’ bike. With MTB riding he doesn’t use it for trails, mud, steep ascents and descents of scarp slopes. It’s more a town bike. On paper his height/inside leg metrics are just below the minimum for...

Please can I have some further bike advice. Five years ago nsc’ers recommended the Specialized Pitch hard tail MTB, duly bought from Rayment at £600, turned out to be a great buy for my son. Sadly it’s come to end of its economic life, South Coast Bikes are quoting £380 for a long list of...

Cheers, I’ve booked with them. They can make this coming Monday, whilst Rayment a couple of weeks time. I’ve seen their vans around :)

Leaving us with unrepaired bikes :lolol: . That was amazing cycling weather ..... April and May 2020, every day seemed to be 20c, windless and sunny.

Rayment have done well out of me over the last 6 years or so. On my own bikes and my son’s not looked after Specialised MTB, countless bills of £125 to £175 a shot. My Boardman hybrid seemed to have doomed chainsets over a decade, costing fortunes, in the end I gave up the ghost buying a Trek...

Thanks. At last another bikes lay man on this thread. Everyone else here able to take apart then improve their bikes to running perfection.

Cheers anyway. I really liked one of the characters who disappeared. The business/people had a unique attitude to the pandemic. They closed from March to Summer 2020, the same bloke told me because they didn’t want to put their wives/kids at risk of death!

Dear all include @Pogue Mahone .... which bike repair places in Brighton & Hove do you recommend just now? A nsc recommendation years ago, I've used Rayment Bikes ever since. But they're incredibly busy, "We can fit that in in 6 weeks time" the usual incredibly laid back response. Any others...

Enjoying the men’s WC road race. Brutal hills in the city centre and hazardous on the corners, Van der Poel looking good despite a nasty slide.

I don’t follow many tours, so the last similar incident to my limited knowledge was Fabio Casartelli in 1995. I think that may’ve brought about compulsory helmet wearing?
