I did the 100, first time I've ridden outside in the UK on the roads since 2019! Road riding in the UK is much more enjoyable on closed roads, not having to worry about someone trying to murder me.
It did feel like riding on actual roads is easier than on Zwift :ROFLMAO: but for my own safety...
Schwalbe ONE tubeless for me on the road bike. 28c, nice and comfortable and can run them at relatively low pressures too. They're fast and handle great, even in the wet. Absolute pig to set up on my Reynolds wheels, but once on, it's hassle free. I'd never go back to tubes.
This is my worst year since I started using Strava.

Last time I rode my bike was for the Ride London. It was a cold, wet, miserable day and I lost the love for it.
Most will have the option to Pause, mine does but the feature is off as it's bloody annoying. Can make a mug of you when cycling up a steep climb and going really slow and it pauses
The 46 ballot is open for those who missed out on the 100 or don't want to ride 100 but still want some closed roads fun: https://www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/events/46/
Idiot drivers. Last time I rode, I got clipped by one in a van as it overtook me but refused to give me room, its wing mirror hit my shoulder, then I got cut up by another on a roundabout as he went past me in a hurry to go left, I was going straight on and had a 3rd pull out on me. Got home...
No, not for me at the moment. Completely lost my cycling mojo, didn't feel safe and stopped enjoying cycling. Zwift has re ignited my love, but it'll require 20+ degrees and sunshine to get me back out the house.
I'd choose it over the rain and high winds we've been having since Christmas, and I can ride after work without having the dig out the thermals, waterproofs, high vis and lights.
Winter riding is a thing of the past for me. Missus RW got my a Tacx Flux for Christmas, I've been spinning up virtual mountains indoors for the past week, it's rather enjoyable.
Agreed, I've been riding mountain bikes a lot longer than road bikes, totally different sport, MTB is a real full body work out when done right, but it's a pain to load bikes and gear into a car, drive to a decent spot to spend the day riding. The local trails around me aren't technical enough...
