Currently just an hour from Detroit/Windsor. Will be moving up to London-Kitchener way in the next few weeks though!

FINALLY expecting the first decent amount of snow here near the US/Canada border. My first Canadian winter has been thoroughly disappointing thus far!!

So chance of sleet early next week, back up to 20 degrees by the weekend. Madness.

Depends whether 1mm of snow is enough to cause the entire transport network to shut down.... TV it is then.

You won’t be able to park at the service station, usual restrictions apply. You can park the other side of the A23 by the pub though, well you used to anyway!

Should see some snow here by 4pm at this rate. Won't be much, enough for a dusting perhaps.

Luck of the draw I suppose. Been fortunate to get big accumulations when I lived in Haywards Heath back in 09-10, while some areas only got a light covering. Never mind ay, we'll go again in 5 years when the next decent cold snap comes round.

So looking like this could potentially start earlier than expected? Possibly 4-5am? If so, could be another interesting rush hour. Thank God I have the day off!

The fact that it’s -6 is bad enough, but it’s the windchill. Absolutely RAW out there. Can’t remember it being as cold as that in my lifetime.

Thoughts on the Friday event, Papa? Seems to be a bit more optimism for a snow event down this way compared to 24 hours ago?

Any prediction is a guess at the moment! I live in Hove and work in Burgess Hill, so I’m going for 2 inches in Hove and 4 in BH.

There is still a good chance some of us will get a good covering of snow, because anything that falls before Friday will be snow. Exactly where it falls and how much, is very much a mystery until it falls. Just make the most of whatever you do get before Friday!

So still set for the coldest spell of winter, until Thursday. Chance of snow showers any day from Mon-Thurs. Then a system moves North possibly giving us some heavy snow at first but then turning to rain. So looks like we’ll miss the worst of it, unfortunately!

Bit disappointing, that! Oh well let's hope we all get to enjoy a bit of the white stuff before the thaw on Friday. Still time to change, however.
