I’m pretty sure our next manager needs to be someone who plays possession based football, builds from the back, and is great at developing young players. Cooper no doubt ticks the last box, but not so sure about the first two. Potter definitely ticks all three, so - if it were a choice - I’d go...
Only Tony and PBOBE know how Potter left. As far as I’ve seen, there was absolutely no public animosity. Who knows what was said in private. But if TB thinks Potter is the best choice, I’m happy with that. There are lots of positives - no need to list them. I was really, really disappointed when...
They might have the cash, but they can't spend much of it. I think they're pretty much up against the FFP limits for the EFL, so can only lose £35m this coming year (possibly less).
Potter did an excellent job, especially taking over a team with little appetite (or apparent aptitude) for passing football - and turning us into an accomplished ball-playing outfit.
But I was looking back at that game at the Emirates in April 2022 that turned it all round for him…what a team...
Very impressed by Wan Bissaka today - helluva job to keep Doku under control (ok - Doku got the goal, but he was forced way inside, and Onana should have saved it).
This is my nagging doubt....if McKenna joined us I'd be forced to hope the new ManU manager was a roaring success, because if not it would be highly likely McKenna would be off to them as soon as they binned Ten Haag's successor.
Well, if we ARE interested in McKenna, you wouldn't have to be a genius to think that Man Utd and Chelsea would also be interested - he coached Man Utd for 6 years, and Chelsea's hierarchy have already shown they target young progressive coaches. Maybe you're right, but I honestly believe -...
I'm 100% sure TB will have anticipated Poch and Ten Haag leaving. Ten Haag's days have been numbered ever since Ratcliffe took over (and probably before that). Poch's statements over the previous few weeks were pretty clear indications he'd had enough. I think we'd be under-estimating our...
Regarding Potter, the history lesson comment was annoying, but the one that looks most ill-judged now is the reference to “having it easy” at Brighton. How could we seriously welcome back someone who is here for the easy life.
I don’t think that sort of person appeals to Barber or Bloom.
