The army story is not quite true.
Everyone from Fawcett was on the top field, opposite Hollingbury Industrial Estate, the Army or maybe the Royal Marines were putting on a display (maybe they were recruiting)
Anyhow just as the helicopter landed some sort of explosive device went off, I thought...
Was this when the Met rounded all the Albion fans up in Hammersmith and put us in a pub?
I remember the Met surrounded the pub and wouldn’t let us leave, they then gave us an escort to the tube, searched everyone and then an escort to Loftus Rd to make kick off by seconds.
One lunchtime at Fawcett I was on the playing field at the Patcham side of the school and spotted about 10 lads heading towards the school. As they got near the school I realised the lad at the front went to Falmer, he was a nasty piece of work and a bully, he lived not far from me at the time...
Fawcett v Stringer almost happened one lunchtime when I was at Fawcett.
Big rumour that Stringer were coming over and many lads were ready for them, we had just gone back to lessons after lunch and Stringer turned up late
The classroom I was in was at the Hollingbury side of the school...
Definitely Southampton.
I don’t want to ever see that “Sussex Whites” flag at the Amex again.
I’m sure I’ve never seen a Saints shirt or car sticker in Newhaven, I have definitely seen Leeds.
Easier away trip obviously.
