Such a stupid way to view this. Why have a pop at your own supporter…it’s not like they’re doing to invite you to eat in the Directors box with them.
I am suspicious of people taking a pop at out owner and CEO, if that an answer to the question I think you are asking.

To be honest I am not following what you think is a stupid view.

I absolutely trust them but they aren’t flawless. The last two transfer windows have shown errors of judgement and we have paid for it on the pitch.
While we didn't spend in January (despite trying to spend £40m on Dewsbury-Hall), I don't think we had a terrible window last summer. Yes we lost MacAllister and Caicedo, but we bought in:
  • Pedro - 20 goals this season
  • Verbruggen - now Dutch number 1. RDZ rotated him with Steele. I won't miss this rotation of GKs nonsense.
  • Igor - solid this season, and played both centre back & left back
  • Baleba - not trusted by RDZ, but when he played recently he seemed to win MotM 50% of the time! Now back on the bench. Big player next season IMO.
  • Fati - failure, wanted to by RDZ
  • Dahoud - failure, wanted by RDZ (personally I thought he was ok, but never got a look-in after his red card).
There seems to be this narrative that we didn't have a good window last summer. I don't buy it.

Also, in January we bought in Barco and Ibrahim Osman who both look to have real talent.

It’s the old everything must be black or white with no grey in between
I fully support the owner and CEO (white, if you like), please explain the black that brings you to be grey.

Indeed. And this strange need to blame Barber and Bloom for imaginary failings, part of a larger narrative. It's f***ing weird.

It reminds me of all the whataboutery we read on the political threads.

You achieve them because your employer has faith in you to do them but the business owner is

To me a CEO is also not a all-powerful leader with unchecked power and decision-making authority. That’s where the club do get things wrong occasionally. An uncompromising position isn’t healthy.
Ok, so you want a perfect CEO that makes no decisions you disagree with…….got it

This might be controversial- but we needed to strengthen in January, we had injuries but still well placed in the league, still in Europe and in the FA cup -
He delivered our best ever finish last season and gave us European football and exceeded all our expectations.
We sold our best assets and had money in the bank.
I think he had every right to ask TB and PB to back him and strengthen the squad to kick on - unfortunately it seems that RDZ’s ambitions didn’t match those of the clubs - resulting in todays mutual parting.

Yes in Tony we trust but could this be a gamble he ultimately pays the price for ??

For me, we trust TB. RDZ wanted us to gamble our financial security on three or four “proven” signings. Like we did for Igor, Dahoud(!) and Fati(!)

So, I’d rather wait for regular European football than Tony/Paul spank £200 million on 4 “marquee” signings which may or may not work out, and put the club in financial trouble if they don’t.

I understand RDZ’s impatience and wish him well, but for me TB is right to not listen to the siren song of “this time next year we’ll be European Champions” and trust in the process. Short term pain? Probably, but better than the alternative.

….and RDZ wanted Barco to go out on loan apparently

So?
He's a good employee so Bloom wants to keep him around. He's nothing more than that
if you think PB makes any big decisions without TB’s approval, then you aren’t very bright. TB has his vision and PB makes it happen. Simples.

We hired RDZ to take us to the next level - RDZ delivered that - RDZ knew what was needed to kick on but IMO wasn’t backed to take us even further - of course we all know where we’ve come from but we aren’t that club anymore- we had a great ambitious manager, probably the best we have ever had - he should have been given the opportunity, from the club, to take us even further.

I’m beginning to think we have hit our level, a mid table premier league team that develops young players, sells them on at a huge profit and maybe in between we might win a cup or get into Europe -
Some quotes from Bloom & Barber seem like they were taken by surprise RDZ was so good and instead of embracing got a little twitchy about trying to keep up with his ambitions.

It’s not imaginary failings. I love Tony Bloom and Paul Barber and will be forever grateful for their efforts.

But it’s borderline cult like when people leap to their defence no matter what.

In the summer we lost Caicedo, Alexis Mac and couldn’t resign Colwill. No problem with that as it’s our model.

But, no matter how you dress it up replacing the first two with Dahoud, Milner and Baleba has not worked out. And that’s not subjective or me ‘seeking imaginary failings’ Dahoud has been so poor we sent him on loan, Milner has had multiple injuries and Baleba, who I am sure will come good, clearly isn’t ready to start in the PL.

We also spent circa £15m on Igor who has been okay but not much more and doesn’t start when all are fit.

We couldn’t get Kudas or Palmer over the line, no criticism intended there just stating a fact and instead signed Ansu Fati on our highest ever wages and he’s had zero impact.

We also didn’t address obvious gaps in squad, notably full back and that has haunted us this season.

I have no agenda against Bloom or Barber, why would any Brighton fan, but to claim they have never made a mistake or to point out errors as an ‘agenda’ is bizarre. Grow up.

We needed to strengthen In January- we didn’t - wouldn’t have cost billions
You say that as if the players were available at the right price. You don't actually know what happened in January.

We do know that Leicester would not let Dewsbury-Hall go. That would have been £30m plus.

There was little activity across the board in January. It was a seller's market.

The club will have detailed info about the January strategy this year. I would rather listen to that and then offered an evidence based criticism. Saying 'it wouldn't have cost billions' is hardly that.

Well they brought RDZ to the PL - so they deserve credit for doing so and ofc - finishing 6th last season surprised everyone in football but you could see the foundations. .
But come on. Bloom and Barber are/were just as ambitious for Brighton as Di Zerbi. Its self evident over the last decade. RDZ is also super ambitious about one other thing - himself and his career beyond the Albion.
So i imagine they got twitchy about his public dissent, his flirting with other suitors , losing too many games to the likes of Bournemouth and Fulham and his different (poor ? ) transfer judgement/ disagreements with the model thats left them with Dahoud - presumably on high wages not wanted by anyone, and Igor - perhaps not vfm/no resell value etc. And didn't want another summer of that.

I thought Dewsbury-Hall decided he didn’t want to move?

let’s be fair - the only way going forward a club is getting into Champions League is if 2 or 3 of the big 5 implode (spurs ain't there until there new stadium commercial model really kicks in) as has happened this season with Man U and Chelsea, allowing Villa a sneak in. add Newcastle to the mix going forward and then even finishing 8th will be a hard push.

De Zerbi going is no surprise, I have a feeling he may be one of those managers whose only ever at a club for 2 years so not into long term thinking

As TB would be the one funding the ‘ambition’ I’m not surprised. It’s all well and good managers demanding to be backed but it’s not their money. If it goes pear shaped, the worst that happens is that he gets sacked. It’s TB who carries the can financially, not RdZ.
anyone who supports a manager over TB is an idiot.

Let me flip it around.

The manager is going.

It is borderline antisemitism to blame it on Bloom

Making money is fine but denying the 80+ year old widow near us the right to bring a thermos in on a cold winter night is just pathetic. State pensioner too.
My Dad only stopped coming to the Albion a few months ago. He's 87.
He liked to bring a flask and definitely likes a cup of tea. He however understands the reasons why (security) , was rather more grateful that his ST was heavily discounted as a state pensioner and although he's not quite sure what a CEO actually does has met Barber (at the fans forum) twice and was extremely impressed he took the time to listen to him about some issue or other and also write him a letter once offering to fix something to overcome his mobility issues at the Amex.
