Barber: yes, as long as he's trusted by Tony, he's trusted by me.
Bloom: absolutely yes. Even if he sold our club and defected to Palace I'd still completely trust that he's undertaking a multi-year secret plan that benefits the Albion. Can never put a foot wrong IMO.

This might be controversial- but we needed to strengthen in January, we had injuries but still well placed in the league, still in Europe and in the FA cup -
He delivered our best ever finish last season and gave us European football and exceeded all our expectations.
We sold our best assets and had money in the bank.
I think he had every right to ask TB and PB to back him and strengthen the squad to kick on - unfortunately it seems that RDZ’s ambitions didn’t match those of the clubs - resulting in todays mutual parting.
Yes in Tony we trust but could this be a gamble he ultimately pays the price for ??

So the guy that pulled this club from the bottom of league one, playing in an athletic stadium and built an amazing stadium and training ground, guided it to being knocked out in last 16 of the Europa League after finishing 6th in the Prem………… oh and putting in around £300 mil …… yep I trust him over a hot headed Italian who did great last year but started to believe his own headlines and ultimately was sacked (or mutual consent if you prefer to believe that) due to his lack of respect and the teams form since January.

Some of you may know that is Chicago City Hall on the left in the image and it's still in use today while the State of Illinois building (Thompson Center) was sold to Google and they are remodeling it for their own new modern uses.
Although I basically agree that Sir Tony is the golden one, PB is an exceptional employee. We owe everything to Tony, but I'm still grateful for what Paul has done.

I'm not sure they have ever suggested everything they touch turns to gold. I'm sure they've said that success is not a straight upward curve.
But all things evaluated, from where we were ten years ago, not just on the pitch (a club is more than that), to where we are now they have been very successful.
Unfortunately, when things do go wrong, and they will, NSC will be a moan fest. But it happens and folk should look at things with more sober judgement.
Brighton are a third division team in the historical sense of the game is this country. In the modern era I would say we are second division team when looking at the solid shift of history. They are trying to establish us up another rudder. The problem is that there are only about 8 teams who are truly top flight anymore. Two seasons in the top ten doesn't change that. Neither does European football (see Burnley).

Yet, some make less mistakes than others.
At least we know with Bloom the decisions he makes are calculated to mitigate most risks, as opposed to some other owners who seem to make bad decisions after bad decisions.

Maybe it's a gamble he didn't want to twist on. No one knows what really happened.
I can see why they continue on the path. An example is Baleba. Contrary to others, I don't think he was a great acquisition. And that was nearly £30m. This is a summary of the problem teams like us face. And it can prove costly.
I sense that Tony isn't just preparing for us to establish ourselves in the top 10. He is also preparing for the prospect of another season in the Championship. All bases covered. He knows what we're capable of and he is not unwise to the possibility that things might not work out.
I feel that some of us need a history lesson.... that being a lesson about clubs who have come and gone from this league.

We hired RDZ to take us to the next level - RDZ delivered that - RDZ knew what was needed to kick on but IMO wasn’t backed to take us even further - of course we all know where we’ve come from but we aren’t that club anymore- we had a great ambitious manager, probably the best we have ever had - he should have been given the opportunity, from the club, to take us even further.
I’m beginning to think we have hit our level, a mid table premier league team that develops young players, sells them on at a huge profit and maybe in between we might win a cup or get into Europe -
