no. would be more nervous every few weeks hearing some club have bined their manager and De Zerbi is in the frame. its done. club will have their targets and get on with it.

when Potter left mid-season it wasn't clear what would happen to the squad just finding their flow.

Worth recalling that Poyet in the second half of the 2012-13 season had us the best performing team in the Championship points wise. Took us a few years to get back to those levels

I was seriously pissed off when Potter walked, I was half expecting RDZ to be shown the door after his comments and demanding behaviour since Roma, so a little sad but think it’s the right thing to part company. Plenty of time to gear up for next season and I imagine the replacement is waiting in the wings.

I was worried when Potter left, I am not at all worried this time.

I was more nervous when Potter left because it was mid season and (to me at least unexpected)

I am however nervous now because we've had three decent changes of manager in a row, and that run will end one day

Not at all. We have been shocking in the league since September. We were on the up when GP left. TB got rid because he thinks he has a better option lined up

Too much made of manager when it’s the squad quality that makes the real difference. Not a coincidence both Potter and RDZ were flying with that squad of players.

Anyone over the age of say 25 should realise managers last about 2 seasons max. How can you be nervous when it happens all the time?!

I'm not nervous now and I wasn't nervous when Potter left.

In my opinion, there isn't much between a whole raft of good, highly competent managers. What is far more important is that we have a decent crop of adaptable, fit, Premier League class players. I think there are probably 10-15 attainable managers who could keep us progressing and I very much trust our board to appoint the right one.

None of that is said to diminish what RDZ achieved. He was outstanding for most of his time here. I just think it isn't the end of the world that he's gone.

Much less nervous this time but any manager at any new club can fail - it's ALWAYS a gamble - so just hoping we have a good start to next season because its dead easy in this division to start badly and end up in a relegation fight. Let's face it we've been in relegation form for the last 4 months anyway so it's not impossible.

This appointment is huge , when potter left still had a very good squad and was mid season , this appointment will be pre season and with players leaving and a full summer transfer window

I wasn't so convinced of this when Potter jumped ship, but after the last two years, Europe, top 6 finish, wall to wall coverage of what a great club we are, our profile is at its all time peak. Outside of the traditional big clubs, surely one of the most attractive jobs.

Nope. Far less. I thought with Potter he was irreplaceable without a slide down the league and the opposite happened.

It’s very obvious to me now that the head coach is a cog in a very well-oiled machine. And I’m absolutely certain we’ll have already done lots of due diligence on who is to come in next.
